June 2007 Update

This has been a busy month. We thank the generous donors for your contributions towards these projects.

3rd reprint of Good Question Good Answer - 3,000 copies

Another 3,000 copies of "Good Question Good Answer" was reprinted  in May. This is the 3rd reprint of this popular book.  It was made possible through the private sponsorship of Mr Teh Chi Chang in memory of Mr Teh Kong Hai.

Pictures on the left are from the recent Dhammacarika Ordination Youth Camp organised by the KYEBC for 300 youths (150 boys and 150 girls) in Wat Puek, Puek Commune, Siem Reap province in April.  Each participant in the program was given a copy of the book "Good Question Good Answer" from our earlier reprint. "I once again want to thank you and your Malaysian friends for supporting the printing in Khmer of the book Good Question, Good Answer. I have received 600 copies of the book and they are being distributed to prisoners, guards, lay people, teachers, students and monks in Battambang city and the surrounding environs.

The Khmer people are hungry for clear and concise explanations regarding the Buddhist teaching and this book gives such explanations. Continued good fortune in the work of yourself and your organization in assisting in the correct dissemination of the Buddhist teachings.

Please send my regards and thanks to the members of your organization and those who have made donations to the printing of this book."
~ John Kimbrough, Yoga and Dhamma teacher, Banteay Meanchey, NW Cambodia, email 31 May 07.

The amount DAC has printed so far is only a fraction of the demand for this popular book and we hope to continue wth more reprints in the future.

Printing of 5,000 copies of Gihi Patipatti

5,000 copies of Gihi-Patipatti (Practice for Lay-People) are currently in print and will be ready by 20 June. The colour of the cover was changed from the original grey to make the book appear more attractive. The books will be offered to the National Inspector of Buddhist Education who will then distribute them to students in Buddhist high schools in the capital as well as in the provinces.

Thanks to the many generous donors who contributed towards this project.

"I am really happy so much for your effort to help our printing and development of Buddhism in Cambodia.  My Chief monk is so happy for your donation to print the book over his request. Again, thank you so much and I wish you all the best of wishes!"
